Samsung, as it had promised, opened the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S23 series yesterday. According to multiple reports, it was live in India and South Korea. Well, the brand has now expanded it to the United Kingdom as well.
Samsung has released the beta version of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra in the UK, as you can see in the screenshots below (via Samsung’s Community forum). It is 3,181.18MB in size and carries firmware version S918BXXU8ZYHB.
To get it, you have to first enrol in the One UI 8 Beta Program. You can do that by going to the Samsung Members app, tapping on the banner about One UI 8 Beta for the Galaxy S23 series, and signing up.
Once you do that, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install, and you should see that the beta version of One UI 8 is available for your device. Now tap on Download and install, and voila, you have it.
One UI 8 isn’t as big of an update as One UI 7. However, it does bring many upgrades. For starters, you get redesigned quick settings panel, revamped Samsung apps with new features, new Quick Share with dedicated Send and Receive tabs, many features related to calls, such as Call Captions and Real-Time Text, and much more.
The beta version of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23 series also brings the September 2025 security patch, which fixes many security issues.
