It has been about three weeks since Samsung started rolling out the One UI 8.0 update for the Galaxy S23 series. Things have been going on pretty nicely since then but it appears that the roll out has hit a snag.
The Galaxy S23 series has become the latest to be hit with a suspension of the One UI 8.0 roll out, a few days after we've seen Samsung pull the update for a couple of other devices.
It's unclear what the issue may have been that caused this suspension. There haven't been any widespread reports from users who updated of any issues on the lineup after they were updated to One UI 8.0.
The only real explanation is that Samsung spotted something that needed fixing so out of an abundance of caution, it has decided to suspend the roll out until such time it can make the required fixes.
As of right now, firmware ending in DYI3 is listed as the most current available version on Samsung's servers for the Galaxy S23 series. This is an Android 15 build, different from the EYI5 builds that brought One UI 8.0 and Android 16 to the devices.
We've seen Samsung pull the update for other devices like the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy M53 recently. A similar move was also made for the Galaxy Fold SE and the Galaxy S22 but the roll out was resumed shortly thereafter.
It's likely not going to be a significant period of suspension, so Galaxy S23 owners who continue to wait for a taste of Samsung's latest firmware may not have their patience tested for much longer.
