While the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro introduced a major design change compared to previous-generation Galaxy Buds, some units were affected by quality and reliability issues. Although Samsung addressed most of these problems, the company is now aiming to ensure that similar issues do not appear in the Galaxy Buds 4 series.
A report from ETNews claims that Samsung will debut the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro alongside the Galaxy S26 series next month at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event. The report also states that the upcoming wireless earbuds will focus on practicality and build quality, as Samsung looks to address the quality controversies associated with the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
The Galaxy Buds 3 series reportedly faced several issues, including uneven lighting in the Blade Lights area, ear tips tearing off, charging problems, and inconsistent paint quality.
The upcoming earbuds are said to drop the Blade Lights design, which was a signature feature of the Galaxy Buds 3 series. Instead, the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro feature a thinner and flatter stem design, which could improve swipe and pinch gesture controls. They are also expected to support head gestures and include a Find My Phone button on the wireless charging case. Additionally, the case design is reportedly shifting from a vertical orientation to a horizontal orientation.
The Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are expected to carry the same prices as their predecessors in South Korea. The Galaxy Buds 4 are reportedly priced at KRW 219,000 (around $150), while the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are expected to cost KRW 319,000 (approximately $220).
