Samsung has released the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update to the Galaxy A53 and the Galaxy A33. Here're the regions where the updates are live.

Samsung, in the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update rollout schedule, said that it will offer the new software to the Galaxy A53 5G and the Galaxy A33 5G in October. Well, the brand has released the update to the two devices, staying true to its word.
The One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A53 5G and the Galaxy A33 5G is currently live in Korea. The firmware of the former carries version GYI2, whereas that of the latter carries version GYI3. We expect Samsung to release it in other regions in the next few days.
To check if Samsung has made the One UI 8 update available for your Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. As for the upgrades One UI 8 brings, it offers new UI elements and features across the system as well as in first-party apps. You can check them out in the video below.
While Samsung hasn’t even completed rolling out One UI 8 to all the eligible devices worldwide, the brand seems to be in the final stages of completing the development of One UI 8.5, which offers new UI elements. Fortunately, the Galaxy A53 and the Galaxy A33 are eligible to get the update. Samsung should start rolling it out after the Galaxy S26 launch.
