Samsung blesses Galaxy A53 with December 2024 security update

Galaxy A53 users are eagerly waiting for the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. Unfortunately, Samsung will release that only after offering it to higher-end devices, which will take at least a month or two. In the meantime, however,  the company is rolling out a minor software update to the smartphone that improves its security.

Samsung is rolling out a new software update that offers the December 2024 security patch to the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy A53 5G for the United States, which has the model number SM-A536U. The new firmware carries the build number A536USQUDEXKA. The December 2024 security patch fixes several security issues.

Go to Settings » Software Update » Download and install to get the latest software update on your Galaxy A53 5G. We have made the new firmware available in our database. You can download it from there and install it manually using Odin. However, you should go with this method only if you are facing issues with the OTA method.
