Samsung teams up with Partners HealthCare to develop digital and mobile solutions for health

Partners HealthCare and Samsung have teamed up to develop the next generation of personalized digital and mobile solutions for health and wellness. The first phase of this effort is going to include software development and clinical research which will help deliver tools that improve chronic disease management. Mobile health tools can aid both patients and providers as they increase patient engagement, medication adherence and empower individuals to better look after their health and wellness.

Kamal Jethwani, MD, MPH and senior director of Connected Health Innovation at Partners HealthCare said that this project shows how smart technology, intelligent algorithms and clinical expertise “can be combined to change the paradigm of care delivery.” Dr. Jethwani will be leading this project at Partners HealthCare which is going to launch a clinical trial in June. Suntae Jung, vice president at Samsung Electronics said that this partnership will go a long way in embracing the actual needs of healthcare providers and patients. “We aim to leverage our technology to help individuals lead healthier lives, while delivering healthcare providers the tools they need to improve clinical outcomes,” he said. The Samsung Digital Media and Communications R&D Center will be supervising this project.
