Samsung's much awaited Tizen smartphone, the Z1, was first released in India. It was the only market in which this smartphone was released. Later the company launched its Tizen smartphone in Bangladesh as well. In just one week the Samsung Z1 has managed to sell more than 20,000 units in the country. While its not the 50,000 unit figure that Samsung reported after the launch week in India one must not forget that Bangladesh is a relatively small market when compared to its neighbour. Samsung has now started promoting its latest smartphone in the country through television advertisements, making it pretty clear that it intends to capture the very low-end of the smartphone market with this device.

The ad being aired in Bangladesh introduces prospective customers to the “Simply Smart” Z1, highlighting some of its features like the power saving mode, front camera and a capable web browser.

Samsung is positioning the Z1 as the first smartphone people will buy when coming up from feature phones which is why this device is priced cheaper as compared to low-end Android smartphones. In Bangladesh the Z1 costs just below $90.
