Emojis are a fun way to react to someone's message without typing those sentences. You can send a thumbs-up to appreciate something or send an open-mouth emoji to react to something shocking. As of now, Google Messages allows you to only use seven emojis: thumbs up/down, smiling face with heart-eyes, face with tears of joy, face with open mouth, crying face, and angry face.
If you long press on an RCS chat, you are shown only seven of these emojis, and you cannot react to messages with other emojis. Well, that is soon going to change as Google Messages is testing and apparently rolling out full emoji reaction support to some users. This means that you will be able to use any emoji on your Samsung or other Android devices to react to an RCS message.
As reported by users, the pill-shaped “Chat message” panel now houses a “plus” icon, tapping on which will unveil the full emoji picker. All the emojis are organized category-wise, making it easier to pick up your favorite ones. Notably, the same sheet opens when you tap on the “emoji” icon next to the “microphone” icon in the message field.
Folks at 9To5Google report that only a couple of user reports confirm the arrival of the Google Messages emoji reactions feature on their phones with the latest beta. Meaning this hasn't rolled out widely yet. The best part about this feature is that you can use full emojis to send reactions on both RCS and SMS text messages.
