Samsung Display develops groundbreaking display technologies every few years, and at this year’s Society for Information Display (SID) Display Week 2026 event, the company showcased a new stretchable Micro LED display panel designed to deliver a more immersive experience.
Samsung Display’s latest stretchable Micro LED panel features a pixel density of 200ppi, making it 67 percent sharper than last year’s model, which had a pixel density of 120ppi. The company says the technology has now reached a level that appears ready for use in actual products.
At the SID Display Week 2026 expo in Los Angeles, California in the USA, Samsung demonstrated the panel as part of a vehicle dashboard or instrument cluster concept. Thanks to its stretchable design, the display can physically change shape depending on driving conditions while still delivering sharp text and clear visuals.
A Samsung Display official explained, “By developing a new pixel structure, we were able to integrate more pixels within the bridge structure and achieve higher resolution. When combined with Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) environments, this technology is expected to dynamically adjust the display according to driving conditions and maximize visibility.”
