Samsung continues to highlight the sports broadcasting capabilities of its latest flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. After the device got some great exposure at the opening ceremony of the recently concluded Winter Olympics, Samsung has found another sports event to promote the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

This year's Street League Skateboarding DTLA Takeover took place on April 4 and Samsung has revealed today that the Galaxy S26 Ultra was used to live film the competition for the first time.

Galaxy S26 Ultra is elevating sports broadcasting this year

Utilizing the Galaxy S26 Ultra in the broadcast allowed for more angles of the action to be captured than ever before.

The device was embedded right into the main course features, including gaps, rails, and ledges, throughout the entire SLS 2026 season. This fully scales up the Galaxy POV (point of view) that was first introduced at this year's SLS event in Sydney, Australia.

Viewers enjoyed skater-level perspectives that traditional broadcast systems simply can't provider. All of the footage captured by the Galaxy S26 Ultra feeds into the live production workflow, allowing for near-instant replay as well. Samsung views this ability to place mobile cameras directly inside the course as being crucial to strengthening the connection between the athlete and the fans.

Both of the broadcasting events it has picked up this year have showcased the Galaxy S26 Ultra's ability to expand the creative possibilities of production. It's aided by features like Super Steady to achieve smooth, level footage even during high-speed motion. It wouldn't be a surprise if we see the Galaxy S26 Ultra playing a similar role in other sporting events as well.
