Samsung smartphones, after not getting a Google Play System update for many months, received three updates in a row just last month. Now, a new Google Play System update for Galaxy phones has become available in several countries.
The latest Google Play System update is 79MB in size and is dated 1 March 2026, as you can see in the screenshots below. To get this new update on your Galaxy phone, navigate to Settings > About phone > Software information > Google Play system update.

We received the latest Google Play System update on our Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S23 in India. We assume that the company is rolling it out to other devices and in other countries as well. On a related note, Samsung recently started rolling out the April 2026 security patch to some Galaxy smartphones.
