We may have just got out first official look at Samsung's first tri-folding smartphone, but rumours about the next Galaxy Z Fold have started brewing already. If the latest report is to be believed, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could be the dream foldable phone for many power users.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 could bring a bigger battery and an S Pen

While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is an excellent foldable, it lacks in two key areas: camera and battery capacity. A new report from DealSite claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could have a 5,000mAh battery, which if true, could be a huge jump from the 4,400mAh battery inside the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Furthermore, it’s rumoured that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature laser-drilling metal plate technology. This innovative technique aims to eliminate the crease on the phone’s foldable OLED display. Interestingly, this technology is also reportedly being used in the first foldable iPhone, which is expected to debut in 2026.

Another improvement that Samsung could bring with its next Z Fold device is the stylus. After introducing S Pen compatibility with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in 2021, the South Korean firm removed it to make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 thinner. However, the beloved S Pen could make a comeback with the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Industry insiders claim that Samsung is fully aware that Apple could make an entry in the foldable smartphone space next year, so it is fully prepared to bring huge improvements with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 that will be launched in the second half of next year.
