The global launch of the Gear 2 (and Gear 2 Neo) is less than two days away, and as expected, the first firmware for Samsung's latest smartwatch are now coming up online. Firmware availability is standard fare, but the Gear 2 firmware are special in that they're the first software builds that are based on Samsung's upcoming OS Tizen, and could give advanced users and developers a peek inside the workings of Tizen. As usual, the firmware files will come in handy for those looking to restore their device to factory state, and for extracting media and other files.

The firmware for the Gear 2 can be downloaded from our firmware section (look for firmware for the SM-R380, which is the model number of the Gear 2). Though they're based on Tizen instead of Android, the flashing procedure for the Gear 2 firmware will remain the same as before – download Samsung's Odin tool, connect your Gear 2 to a PC, and you'll be all ready to roll.
