    Samsung patents new screen designs with curved edges at the top and bottom

    Samsung introduced the curved-edge display with the Galaxy Note Edge, and then improved it with the Galaxy S6 edge. Now, Samsung wants to take the curved edge display scheme to a new level with a couple of brand new patents that are showing some interesting concepts.

    If you can recall, there have been some interesting designs from the company as of late. All these patents suggest that Samsung is up to something, and we could witness a whole different display in 2016, but probably not on the Galaxy S7. One interesting patent shows an angular bottom, but every concept shows a straight edge. We can see how a bottom edge would be more practical than a side edge, but it depends. It does look like a curved device on the upper and lower side would be easier to handle around.

    We'd certainly be interested in seeing a new screen design, plus Samsung's foldable display concept, but it will probably be a while until we see such devices in the wild. The recent influx of patents suggests that Samsung is in fact working on something new, but we most likely won't be seeing anything until 2016. Check out the concept images below:
