After the Nexus devices, Google Play Edition devices are one of the first to receive latest Android updates. Last year, Google announced the Google Play Edition program which featured high-end smartphones from various smartphone vendors like Samsung, HTC, and Sony. Samsung released the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S4 (GT-i9505G) with stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean onboard, after which it was eventually updated to Android 4.4 KitKat with swift software updates. Now that Google has released Android 5.0 Lollipop to the public, Samsung is testing it on various devices including the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, and the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition. We've managed to get the beta build of Android 5.0 on the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition and here are the screenshots of the latest software. As expected, it features stock Android UI with Material design and all the features which were introduced with Android 5.0. We have already showcased the beta builds of Android 5.0 Lollipop based ROM for the Galaxy S5 and made a video displaying Android 5.0 on the Galaxy Note 3.
