That 7-inch Samsung phablet that we saw in a few leaks earlier this year has been made official by the Korean manufacturer as the Galaxy Tab Q (SM-T2558) for the Chinese market. Samsung is marketing it as a tablet even though it doesn't look like a traditional slate, and it will launch on Chinese carriers China Mobile and China Unicom with support for their 4G LTE networks and voice calling. The Galaxy Tab Q comes with a faux leather finish on the back like the Galaxy Note 3, but unfortunately doesn't adopt modern features like a recent apps button or the latest version of Android, reducing chances of the device making it to other markets.

As for the specs, the Galaxy Tab Q sports a 7-inch 720p display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a microSD slot, a 3,200 mAh battery, and USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS (with GLONASS), and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity. The tablet measures 191.8 x 99.7 x 8.9 mm and weighs 250 grams, which are rather modest dimensions for a 7-inch device, one that you will be able to put next to your ears to make voice calls.
