One of the most interesting devices unveiled by Samsung in recent times, the dual-booting Windows 8 and Android hybrid ATIV Q tablet, was recently rumored to have been cancelled due to patent issues, but folks were still clinging on to hope that Samsung would find a way around those issues. However, it looks like that won't be happening very soon, as Samsung has confirmed to AllAboutSamsung.de that the launch of the ATIV Q will not be happening this year.

That's certainly disappointing news for those who were looking forward to the device, so hopefully Samsung will be able to work some magic and launch the ATIV Q at least in early 2014, instead of straight out cancelling it as was earlier expected. Of course, you can also settle for the upgraded Galaxy Note 10.1 that Samsung launched at IFA, though that won't get you a keyboard or Microsoft's full-fledged Windows 8 OS.
