Samsung hasn't really been that excited about Windows Phone 8 ever since Microsoft launched the new OS, something which we can't really blame them for considering they're doing so well with Android and also have their very own Tizen OS in the making. However, it seems like Samsung is still willing to keep a connection with Microsoft's young OS, as a Samsung phone with model number SGH-I187 has been spotted on the GLBenchmark database.

The display resolution is listed as 1280 x 720, which is the highest WP8 currently supports (though the GDR3 update later this year will add support for 1080p resolution). The CPU frequency isn't mentioned, but the Adreno 305 means we could be looking at a Snapdragon 400 chipset – the SGH-I187 beat both the HTC 8x and Samsung's own ATIV S in benchmark, which indicates that Samsung is indeed using the new Snapdragon chip for mid-range devices.

Judging by the model number, this mysterious Windows Phone device is probably headed to a U.S. carrier, though there should be an international model as well. We'll be sure to keep an eye out and let you know about the SGH-I187 pending further info.
