We learned today that Samsung is working on multiple wearable smart devices, and while most of them probably won't be ready any time soon, a report from Patently Apple claims that the company may unveil its new “Samsung Gear” smartwatch in September, during the same event where they'll also launch the next-generation Galaxy Note phablet.

This smart watch will act as an accessory to Samsung's Galaxy smartphones to add additional functionality, but how it will work and what it will look like is a mystery at this point (even the product name isn't final). Patently Apple doesn't mention any sources for this info so it could just be speculation, but considering Samsung has been vocal about how they're working hard and fast on bringing a smartwatch to the market, we wouldn't put it past the company to surprise everyone by unveiling it alongside the Note III, even if only in an early stage.

Of course, this could also just be a rumour that will fizzle out and die without a smartwatch announcement taking place in the next two months – either way, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
