6 reasons to buy the Galaxy Note 8.0 instead of the iPad mini

Note8.0iPadmini

The Galaxy Note 8.0 announced at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona was released specially to give some competition to the iPad mini. SamMobile just got some images of the Galaxy Note 8.0 ad which will soon be making a debut on your nearest television. In the Ad, Samsung compares the Galaxy Note 8.0 with the iPad mini.  Samsung shows of the Multi window option, a comfortable reading hub, a screen comparison and many specification / processor details.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.0 is almost better in all ways. The only advantage the iPad Mini has over the Galaxy Note 8.0 is its thickness. Samsung expects to sell the Galaxy Note 8.0 from April. The price is a bit higher than the iPad mini.
Let us know what do you think about this comparison between the Galaxy Note 8.0 and the iPad mini. Quite funny isn’t it? Let’s hope for Samsung the sales of the Galaxy Note 8.0 are as good as the iPad Mini.

Samsung could have at least lowered the price point to the level of the iPad mini because most of the market still think of Apple as the superior brand; and for consumers who will just start to purchase their first tablet, the cheaper iPad mini will be a no-brainer then.

First tablet users are not where the money are these days. :)
Second tablet users are what matters now!

Open source still rules. iPad does not have OTG yet, well not to other type of files transfer. Even with future functions of NFC in iPad it would still be “stiff” with options when it comes to user control over machine. Andriod will continue to have the edge for several years unless Apple comes up with radical change and start to open up which is unlikely.

    Reading mode – disputable.

“More big” display – well, to be frank, the difference is in conrast, sharpness, colors, overall screen quality – not in small difference of resolution (and ppi) or even smaller in the diagonal.

Superb performance – even more disputable. Remember that Apple’s iOS is – and I’m pretty sure even Android fanboys know this – way more optimized by having a closed structure of software and hardware in one company (of course closed means a lot of sacrifices for the user ; )
Basicly, 4x RAM, 1,5x clock speed and 2x the number of cores don’t necessarily produce a significantly better result, in reality it can produce worse results… benchmarks, comparisons of running the same apps (by the same makers, even if they are, well, better designed on iOS, to be frank) would be more truthful.

And the last comparison in the chart… laughable :)
1,3 Mpix vs 1,2 Mpix front camera? :)
Battery capacity 4600 vs 4400 mAh? :)) (when it clearly depends on the OS used?)
IrLED smart remote? :))) (ok, one in hundred people will actually control the TV like that)

I’m also a bit suprised that Note 8.0 doesn’t have a Gyro sensor.

Of course, other arguments: S-Pen, microSD slot, multitasking, open file system (which also means open BT, open WiFi and WiFi Direct and a few other things, being able to have an occasional phone call (THOUGH NOT IN PUBLIC :D), after all, 2 GB (in Android world) is a nice amount of RAM are perfectly valid and make the choice harder, but still… some arguments, even for Samsung fans, are pretty much off the wall.

iPad mini: you don’t vomit when you look at it.
Smoother performance, despite the weaker hardware.
AppStore with thousands of tablet optimised apps, and a lot more price drops a day.
4:3 display gives better browsing experience. (yes, it’s not benefitial for videos.)
Immidiate update when a new OS version is released.

Note 8 and other Android tablets: They can replace a laptop for more people:
    torrent downloading
    normal file browsing
    wider screen for videos
you don’t need that f*ucking iTunes for anything

8 Reasons to stick with the Galaxy Tab 7.7 vs Note 8 and iPad mini

    1) Make phone calls
    2) Send Texts
    3) @ 7.7″ it’s the perfect size
    4) Has GPS iPad mini doesn’t
    5) 1280 x 800 pixels display vis iPad mini 1024 x 768
    6) Metal instead of plastic
    8) Looks fucking awesome compared to the weird Note soap bar shape.

7.7 was and still is the best tablet hands down. Why Samsung decided to ditch it? Who knows.
