Advice Samsung: Please update your Galaxy S III
Yesterday at the Ekoparty security conference, Ravi Borgaonkar presented a session titled “Dirty use of USSD Codes in Cellular Network”.
Ravi Borgaonkar presented a session with Samsung’s Galaxy devices based on Samsung’s own Touch-Wiz interface.
Thanks to some missing code the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Advance both devices are easy to factory reset.
Samsung will update their other devices too.
Samsung:
“We would like to assure our customers that the recent security issue concerning the GALAXY S III has already been resolved through a software update. We recommend all GALAXY S III customers to download the latest software update, which can be done quickly and easily via the Over-The-Air (OTA) service.”
How about other Galaxy devices?

The Vulnerability was shown in GS II and G Advance. Why haven’t Samsung released OTA update for these two phones and released it for GS III?

I’ve tried updating via over the air several times, its saying no update available!

It’s normal, Samsung says : “which can be done quickly”.
This update is not available but release is in progress.

Lo mismo, trato de actualizar pero dice que no tengo actualizaciones, tambien uso la ROM de Alemania (DBT) Galaxy S3.

This issue is already fixed in 4.0.4 update released by Samsung a while ago afaik

I’m from The Netherlands and 1 have a Galaxy S Advance with the same problem. And there is no update available.
