Value packs for the Samsung Galaxy S and S+ starts rolling out. UPDATE

Samsung start rolling out the first Value packs for the Samsung Galaxy S in Europe and Korea. You can get this update through OTA or Samsung Kies.
Value pack will make your phone lots faster and uses some Android 4.0 features adapted to the Galaxy S, such as the Facelock. The Value  pack is based on Android 2.3.6.
If you want to know when your country could update follow @samkiesupdates on twitter!

Remember this update comes far after the 18 months Samsung promised to update their devices. The galaxy S is the phone with the most update till now. From Eclair to Froyo to Gingerbread and now to Gingerbread with some Ics features. So please stop flaming!!

UPDATE (Galaxy S Plus)
Samsung even started with updates for the Galaxy S Plus I9001.
You can download the first rom in our firmware section.
This firmware is based on Android 2.3.6 and is only out for Switzerland at the moment!

    i am disappointed. i just bought my s+ a few months ago and i really hoped to get ICS on my phone. i should have saved more money and aim for a better phone. until now i just hated sony. from now one samsung mobile joins sony on my hate list.

    Useless update. Very dissapointed. They can do better this. Samsung just waste their time and customers/users time. Instead of porting some apps and features why not allocate time for ICS on SGS. We all know SGS can run ICS some on xda even port SGS2 ICS to SGS and in time i think it will run well. I will not be surprised if this will also happen to SGS2. But who knows only time will tell. Peace. SGS gt-i9000 the phone that kills the iphone 4 dead. OMG.

    We want ICS for I9000, not Value Pack… If Samsung Mobile put the same effort into listening to customers as they do to counting their money (after all their sales, to us, the customers), we could have ICS for I9000 already… That lame excuse that the I9000′s hardware does not support ICS is a lie. The I9000′s specs exceed the requirements for ICS (as posted by Google).
    Samsung just wants us to buy their latest & greatest phones, which SHOULD come with ICS.
    I say, no more… no more Samsung, my next Android handset will not be a Samsung, not again.

    Who says I9000 does not support ICS? Installed it and it was a real pain (~20h work). I bricked the phone (cannot mount sdcard) – twice! but now the phone is running ICS 4.0.4 and is better than ever before (sometimes 170 MB RAM free!!!).

    And man, ICS is an absolute burner! System is running so smoothly, I almost cannot believe it, that Samsung won’t bring ICS to it…

    @Samsung: you build really great hardware – but your software could be better!

    This value pack is buggy and pretty useless. TW4 resets its configuration all the time by itself. It has problems with wifi dropouts too. And the graphic drivers weren’t even updated.
