Galaxy S7 to have magnesium alloy body and superior sound quality

If reports are to be believed Samsung might launch the Galaxy S7 in January next year, which would explain why all of a sudden there’s an influx of rumors and reports concerning the Galaxy S7. I’m not complaining though, many Samsung fans are looking forward to see what the company achieves with its next flagship smartphone, and from what has been reported so far it’s going to be a big upgrade over the Galaxy S6.

A new report out of China suggests that the Galaxy S7 is going to have a magnesium alloy body adorned with glass, not only will that make the device more sturdy but will also improve the premium feel which will certainly go a long way in convincing users that it’s a worthwhile upgrade. Another report says that the Galaxy S7 is going to tout superior sound quality as it will feature the SABRE 9018AQ2M chip by ESS Technology, it has a 129 dB signal-to-noise ratio and has support for formats such as DSD and PCM p to 32-bit and 384 KHz. The chip will enable users to get the same listening experience from digital and streaming music as they do from its analog counterpart. It’s interesting to note that this report comes at a time when Samsung is believed to be looking into a possible acquisition of Tidal, a Hi-fi music streaming service owned by Jay-Z. With the chip built-in the Galaxy S7 will become very enticing for audiophiles and may ultimately end up helping Samsung sell more of its flagship device.

So, I’m guessing the Galaxy A series is outselling the S6? lol

Why in the world did they go with the ugly glass design like the iPhone 4….

I ain’t getting any samsung upgrade until they can make either a removable battery flagship or have a unibody adamantium alloy design. at least I can use it as a shield once it runs out of battery.

Actually, by mobile standards, the best DAC so far is Wolfson (which is used in most audiophile devices), which Samsung used until now in their Exynos designs. If everybody remebers the fiasco when Samsung switched for S2 to the Yamaha chip.
However why it was never marketed was, that Samsung had to use the partial solution, and throw a cheap AMP after the so awsome DAC inside, so that the sound was badly dostprted in the end.
And about Magnesium alloy body, leave it to Samsung to find a metal, that upon impact behaves like glass :)

Magnesium? Way cool. It will burn brightly when we throw it in the fire!

Nice to hear the premium design. Samsung must improve battery life or size and add the 3d touch that samsung also develop internally.

Same old, same old. They’ll hype the s7 and at unveiling it won’t live up to hype and have same old look and nothing that desirable.

I think I speak for quite a few Sammobile members when I say
MicroSD?
USB-C?
IR Blaster?

You bring those, we’ll consider.
Also, 5.8″ model to replace the TERRIBLE Note 5 you produced? (I don’t care for the S-Pen) – sold.

Either ditch the Samsung logo at the front of the device & expand the size of the speaker, or just make the logo as a speaker.

sounds good. now just offer all models and storage capacities in all markets, or even better start off with the smallest capacity at 64GB of actually available space (so make it a 70ishGB capacity) and sell some matching battery extension cases for those of us who are happy to sacrifice thickness for multi day performance.

The day Samsung releases a flagship device with front facing speakers is the day Samsung has won me back. I’m keeping my Note 4 as long as it’s still racing along. The Note 5 or S6 wasn’t a worthwhile upgrade with the non removable back & no SD-card.
Next up is the S7 & Note 6. 4 Gb RAM, SD-card, front speakers and UFS 3.0 :)

Sorry so how is ufs going to work with sd cards, please tell me now?, if Samsung got that working it will make the 1st iPhone look crap, you are up on sd cards use Emmc and ufs does not, some ther add sd cards just add them direct to the Emmc controler, Samsung can not do this.

The meizu pro 5 has ufs 2.0 and sd card slot…
Samsung needs these kind of specs:
Snapdragon 820 with wolfson dac or better
6 gb of ram
Thunderbolt 3.0
Ufs 2.1 which is being made now and it needs to be f2fs
Sd card slot
Crypto co-processor fips 140/aes 256
4000+ mah battery
20+ mp
And front facing speakers with dolby software built in
