The Galaxy S6 is a strikingly beautiful merging of form and function, but we here at SamMobile have a deep, abiding appreciation for gold smartphones. A Galaxy S6 will turn heads, but a gold-plated Galaxy S6 may stop feet in their tracks. We took time recently to sit down with Goldgenie Founder and CEO, Laban Roomes, and find out about how Goldgenie was born as well as some details about the day-to-day operations of the business. Laban says that his business started after going nearly bankrupt in his former business. He saw an idea on his travels that inspired him to produce something similar in the UK.

Aside from the business’ humble beginnings, Laban also mentioned some famous celebrities who use Goldgenie’s gold-plated smartphones, the first smartphone the company gold-plated, and, of course, there’s the usual discussion about Apple and Samsung’s gold-plated marvels. We can’t give away the details; they’re just too good to miss.

We here at SamMobile want to take time to thank Mr. Roomes for sharing his heart with us about his business. Laban, keep up the good work. We sure do hope to see a gold-plated Galaxy Note 5 smartphone and Gear A smartwatch sometime soon. The juicy details can be seen in the videos below.
