Android 4.4 KitKat rolling out to Wi-Fi variant of Galaxy Note 8.0

note-8.0-feature

Samsung started updating the 3G variant of the Galaxy Note 8.0 to Android 4.4 KitKat last week, and now, the update has started rolling out to the Wi-Fi-only model as well. The update is currently out in the UK and should be extending its reach to other regions in the coming days, both over the air and through Kies. The update should include all the features and changes that were a part of the KitKat update for other Samsung devices. Highlights include faster performance, white status bar icons, improved battery life, full-screen album art on the lock screen, and wireless printing support.

Don’t forget to head into the Settings » About » Software updates menu to manually pull the update if the notification hasn’t automatically showed up on your Note 8.0. You can also download the firmware from our firmware section and update through Odin.

Update: The update has also started rolling out in the US, in the form of a large 712MB over-the-air update.

Firmware details:

  • • Model: GT-N5110
  • • Model name: GALAXY Note 8.0 Wi-Fi

This is getting to be a joke, a few weeks ago Samsung pushed out KK 4.4.2 to Note SM-P600 and in the UK we’re still waiting for it and now to rub salt in the wounds they push out KK 4.4.2 to Note 8 in the UK. Crazy crazy maybe its time for Samsung to stop releasing new devices and make sure their current customers have the updates,

My Note 10.1 2014 Edition ( P605 LTE model )tablet is the WORST updated samsung device ever. Original firmware is dated October 2013 and it was “very little while” samsungs flagship tablet device. NOT A SINGLE update for the device in over half A year! It´s conspiracy theory at it`s best! Pro tablets anyone!

Its always a mistake to by a tablet that’s linked to a cell data provider, THey are always the last to be an update and its not Samsung’s fault , its your carrier. Always buy a smartphone and tether a wifi tablet to it. Cheaper and better support.

    Once again!
This update has a s-pen offset incaccuracy. About 2 mm.
It is like 4.2.2 update at first. We had to wait about 4 month to have this issue solved.
    Incredible!!!

I had a problem with mine. Boots to a black screen. Not sure what happened. Curious if your device has full disk encryption. Mine does, and just wanted to know if maybe that was the problem.
