Black editions of the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini announced

S4 black edition

It looks like Samsung isn’t done with rolling out different editions of the Galaxy S4, as it just announced the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini black editions. They look similar to the regular versions of the Galaxy S4 and S4 mini, but feature a black faux leather back cover that is similar to the one used on the Galaxy Note 3.

As far as the hardware is concerned, the Galaxy S4 Black Edition is based on the I9505 Galaxy S4, which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC with a 1.9 GHz quad-core Krait 300 CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU. Other hardware details are the same, and include a 5-inch full-HD screen, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 13 MP camera, Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, DLNA and a 2,600 mAh battery along with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The Galaxy S4 mini Black Edition similarly shares the same hardware features of the Galaxy S4 mini, which include a 4.3-inch qHD screen, 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400, 1.5 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 8 MP camera, micro-SD slot and a 1,900 mAh battery.

The Galaxy S4 Black Edition is going to launch in Russia next month for $660, with no word on international availability. The Galaxy S4 mini Black Edition is set to cost $460 in the country.

I dont feel premium anymore with the Galaxy Note 3. The back cover should be reservated only for the Note Series…

What you said makes no sense. You like something only if you’re the only one who has it? That’s just dumb.

It’s not dumb. The back cover made for GN3 imitates a leather pad. I just think that this imitation should differentiate Note Series from the other Samsung Series by this specific back cover.

Bro first of all S series is samsung’s first priority because it is introduced before note series and note series devices are based on s series devices like you see note 2 is having same ui as s3 and note is having same ui as s4
And you think that this thing intimates you u r wrong a go take look to grand 2 which cheaper than note 2 and still go same finish at the back as note 3

I still love the design of s4, to me 5″ screen is just perfect for a smartphone (my opinion). I’m very thankful Samsung released the Snapdragon 800 for S4 (i9506) and currently running 4.3 JB. I really hope that this leather-look back cover will be sold separately.
