Samsung Galaxy Gear gets first software update (V700XXUAMJ8)

    Firmware

The Galaxy Note 3 has received a couple of software updates since its launch, but it's only now that it's companion smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear, is receiving the first software update. Currently out in the United Kingdom, the update has the build number V700XXUAMJ8, and from our short time with it, we haven't noticed anything major, so it could simply be a stability and bug fixing update like the Galaxy Note 3's (and possibly with improvements to better support devices like the Galaxy S4 and S3, which gain Gear compatibility with the 4.3 update).

The update should be trickling down to more and more Galaxy Gears around the world in the coming days, and you can also manually update by grabbing the appropriate firmware from our firmware section. Do let us know if you've gotten the update, and whether you noticed anything new or different post update.
