I believe it is being unveiled 03.14, don’t think it will be released in March.

No OCTA ?
No buy for me…

Exynos 5 Octa’s model number is 5410. I confirmed that awhile ago from official Samsung Exynos Twitter account. So what the hell is 5440? I confused, is it have just quad-core Cortex-A15?

Why no OCTA? That’s a step back not forward!

wooooooooooooooooooooooooo
any one buy my note 2, I wont that device

…someone please explain to me: why on earth would you need a 8-core CPU on a PHONE? …yeah better performance, but here’s the thing – there’s no game or app on earth that requires that much power in existence.
Hell, no games even take full advantage of 4-core CPUs yet…
Is it me or is the industry moving way too fast?
you are right. 4 or 6 core should be enough. but the ram should be larger. but when it comes to ram samsung is full of sh.t. s2 and note 1 are suppose to have 1gb ram (1024mb)
instead they have around 800mb ram and thats lies.

@ChrisR82 you are right man the industry is moving way to fast! And all the people do not understand that ….

i am not entirely sure it will run 4.2.1 (let alone 4.2.2) out of the box. i bet my money on 4.1.2

You don’t realize that it’s not 8-core processor but two 4-core processors. One power efficient (cortex a7) and one high-powered (cortex a15). So when your phone is not doing any power hungry operations it uses cortex a7 for saving your battery and when you are playing modern combat etc. it uses cortex a15 to deliver enough power. So it is disappointting if we don’t see that processor combination (ARM’s big.LITTLE configuration) in S4.

@CrisR82: As @RandomPlayer said…you don’t understand what OCTA means !!!!
Octa is quad-core…same performance as a quad-core processor, the only thing making it better is the power consumation. It’s 3x more efficient so you will have a larger battery uptime. Read before commenting.

@RandomPlayer: More dissapointing will be to buy S4 and see that they add this new processor in Note 3. Don’t understand why they privileged Note 2 last year.
@Random Ur wrong..Kt can work on both cpu..But as mentioned here
we are all pointing for power consumption…S4 should have Octa.
I am not buying if its not going to have…
5410 is Octa
5440 (known as 5450) quad core A15 Cortex
So Note 3 > Octa + hd OLED = waiting and buying! Goodbye S4

uvaman You are wrong. note always have some “SGS” CPU&GPU + ~ 10% overclock

what about Samsung s3 update for 4.2 what are samsung thinking about this matter any news for this ………………..

If no Exynos Octa, then it’s useless !

S4 will have a PowerVR SGX 544MP3, not a Mali GPU.

I’m seeing a lot of posts panicking a bit. Let’s wait and see just what the S4 is packing first.
Pretty sure Samsung have noted the other manufacturers coming out with their flagships like Xperia Z, HTC One in particular. They know the GS4 NEEDS to keep ahead of the pack.
Sure it will.

Yes yes megamachines but what about the batteries????

@demlasjr – read again, and this time actually READ…which part of “Octa (8-core)” sounds like quad core to you?
@CrisR82 – Yes, octa means eight, but have you read about the Exynos 5 Octa (8-Core) CPU? The CPU is two quad-core CPUs that has two means of operating (thanks to the Big.little technology). Again, the CPU contains two quad-core CPU: a high running CPU which helps in the processing of intensive applications, whilst the other is a low running CPU for the non-intensive applications. The technology allows the system to switch between these two high intensive and low intensive quad-core CPUs. However, the two quad-core CPUs can run simultaneously, which is when it is a “true” octo-core, but I don’t really see the phones using all 8 at the same time.

big.LITTLE* apparently, will be disappointed if the S4 will not have this technology
. Anyone knows what the hell is the 5440?

I think will be with 8-Core cpu but by the way.Why so mad to have 8 cpu core.4 cpu is already enough with the combination of 2gb ram.The point is to make the software Android works more smooth and fast to this hardware. This hardware is already touch the perfectly

@gaterakos – Read my comment above
, the main point of the Exynos 5 Octa (8-Core) CPU is battery saving. When the system uses the lower running CPU for day-to-day non-intensive applications, it uses significantly less battery. So you save up 70% according to statistics. That’s why we are mad lol

Hype mode: ON….
Seriously i dont see why A15 quad core would be step back (last time i checked it is faster than A9 or A7)….and afer all between exynos 5 quad and exynos octa there isnt going to be performance difference (if that is what worries you), since it is still just quad core with adittional 4 cores for power saving…..you wont get some kind of octa “beast” just quad core with good battery life….and even this, i think, it has economical not actual technological cause, since we have everything….quad cores, dual cores, single cores…..they need to produce something “fresh” and “new” so people will buy new phones, isnt it same if 4 A7 cores kick in or if only 1 A15 is running at half speed for example (correct me if i am wrong)

Hi! I just want to say something, I’m waiting desperately the new SGS4. Also, I must confess that I had a satisfaction with the SGS2, what a fantastic and powerful device and I hope the same with the new SGS4. Now, I have a SGS3, but with the latest news about the sudden death and the famous Exynos Bug, terrible. I don’t expect the same with this SGS4! Greetings from my SGS3 GTI9300 with a Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 I9300XXELLC with a Premium Suite!
