Samsung tablet owners are unhappy with Samsung
Samsung tablet owners are very unhappy with Samsung.
Samsung released a list of devices which will get Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update.
In only 2 hours people blamed Samsung about some tablets missing from their upgrade list.
The upgrade list missed the Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Galaxy Tab 7.7.
Many people are blaming Samsung because of the price and specifications…
The price of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is still high but will not get a higher any further updates then 4.0.4 ICS.
The price of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 are normal but the specifications are almost the same as the new Galaxy Tab 2, so the hardware is definitely capable of handling Jelly bean.
Samsung did not gave any comment on the missing tablets or phones yet.
We of SamMobile have to say, some of the tablets aren’t available anymore in some countries because of the patent wars between Apple and Samsung.
Maybe is this one of the reasons of Samsung will not update these tablets.
Also some Galaxy W owners aren’t happy with Samsung but sadly the sales of this device are not high.
The other side.
Many people are happy to see that Samsung will update most of their old high-end phones to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.
Specially the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II owners are very happy.
They are even happy to see Samsung update their mid-end devices Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Ace Plus and Galaxy mini 2 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.
The most updates are planned for the latest quarter of 2012. / first quarter of 2013.
The Jelly Bean update will have a few enchantments like:
- Better performance, thanks to Project Butter it’s even smoother and faster
- Reorganized settings menu
- 2 Homescreen modes
- New Notifications bar
- Google Now
- Resizable Pop-up play screen
Hope for the most devices?
Many times Samsung decide to update the most devices with special value packs.
Samsung did the same with the first Galaxy S and Galaxy tab.

BULL CRAP THEY MUST RELEASE JB FOR GT-P7500/7510

Very happy to receiv JB of my Galaxy Tab Plus (P6200), but I don’t understand why Tab 7.7 (P6800) would not be upgraded ….. the two tablets are very similar: both Exynos and Mali 400MP, major difference is LCD only (SuperAMOLED HD 1280×720 vs PLS LCD 1024×600) ….
a mistake ?!

“Samsung customers are unhappy” – is line that keeps appearing a lot lately.
You can be damn sure my SG2 is the last Samsung phone I will ever own.

One more thing: it is not enough to update, if the delay is six months. Think what would happen if Microsoft released bug-fixes every six months instead of weekly as it does now. Timing is important.

SGS2 and GT8.9/10.1 are completely different in chipset.
SGS2 and GT7+ and GT7.7 are similar.
That’s why I don’t understand why GT7.7 won’t get JB if GT7+ will.

I am a Galaxy Tab 10.1 owner and I’m really disappointed by Samsung. Samsung has decided tu not upgrade devices which are more than one year old. I think that it’s a very bad decision in terms of customer respect. Their upgrade policies are worse than Apple on this aspect.
My next tablet and phone will be Nexus units (if those Nexus unit are not build by Samsung)…

Um GT8.9/10.1 are not the same as S2. I was pissed when i realized that i couldn’t even watch the video created with S2 on the GT10.1. I got rid of that awful Tegra2 device right away

I would have been very happy if someone could talk some sense into Samsung. I don’t see any reason why any dual core device at all e.g my captivate glide i927 should not get an upgrade to jellybean. Its not just nice. The ics update isn,t even fully functional.

it was very late to get ICS and now will never get JB
there is one answer to explain all this crap
samsung is stupid or we are.
Is there an avenue to issue our displeasure in not including the Galaxy 10.1 in the list. People payed $500 bucks for this device or more and there is no technical reason for it not to have JB so I think Samsung should update it as I am sure the work is minimal given since they updated to ICS. We are not asking for a major upgrade. This is only a minor one but the butter would really make these devices what I think Samsung intended them to be.

on P-7510, WiFi 10.1 Tablet, the last 4.0 update is a mess. It goes completely wrong the device now – full of bugs. Samsung would do better to do the updates not so often but concentrate on quality of the products they release.

And now, this news…….;o((((( !

Samsung’s behaviour is outrageous. The Koreans think their customers are stupid and that they are ready to accept anything. Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 are less than year old. Mine is still under warranty ansodan already Samsung says that it will not be updated to OS version that is already released. ICS update schedule is still unknown to most countries and I suspect that 8.9 will not get this year.
Why this, Samsung? Didn’t you sell these enough and do you really think it justifies your behaviour?
I could understand if the HW couldn’t support JB etc., but that’s not the case.
We should wake up every GTab user to yell at Samsung. Only visible negative feedback might affect Samsung.
Personally, this is probably my first and last Samsung phone/tablet product

I sure hope Samsung is going to stick by there customers and up date the Galaxy tabs. Spent a good deal of money on the tab and I’m not going to go by another one if this will be end of life support they will give. There is no reason not to update. I have already seen builds or jelly bean for the galaxy tab 10.1 and it runs very smooth like butter. If they don’t, learn your lesson and go with a google device. Google devices get the upgrades very fast and run stock android software only. Please make me want to my another Samsung device!

When I broke the digitizer on my Tab 10.1 I bought a 10.1 ver 2 and I was very disappointed. No 5GHz WiFi (which I use at home) and very cheap looking compared to it’s predecessor. So I bought a 10.1 Classic which cost me more than I paid for the returned ver 2. It’s about 2 weeks old… and I am NOT happy that Samsung is not releasing an update to JB. JB was released while Tab 10.1s are still available for sale so it’s not unreasonable to expect an update. If there is none forthcoming I’m done with Samsung. I spent half a day fixing problems with their USB drivers today… and Kies is terrible bloatware. Banished from my PC forever…

I owned Samsung Galaxy Tab PT-1000 with Stock GB 2.3.3. Within less than 6 months, every other device recieved ICS, However I felt Samsung shouldn’t ignore customer sentiments by introducing such products which are no more in their UPDATE or UPGRADE Roadmap. Very Very Very bad investment made by me due to Samsung’s false promise, But nothing coming in the right direction at least for now. “respect customers” is what I want to communicate to Samsung…no offenses otherwise

I’m so upset that my Tab 8.9 is not getting a JB update that I had to register on here and vent my frustration! I paid top money for this tablet when it first came out in hopes of getting timing updates to the most recent Android OS.

This that the tablet what I thought will be such a platform for the NEW DEVICE, what I´ll buy, but after this information I think to sell ALL MY DEVICES WHAT I HAVE OF SAMSUNG AND NEVER TO BUY ANYTHING OF THIS TRADEMARK!!!
TODAY WE HAVE A LOT OF TRADEMARKS AND WITH THE SIMILAR QUALITY!

Really would be nice to get our feelings to someone within the company and get an official response to why they turned their back on their alliance promise (if they did).
Starting to think that perhaps going with a CyanogenMod might be our only option. So if I go this route is there ways to save my data off and also what do I loose in terms of functionality.

I bought my gtp 6800 less than a year ago on the new launch in Thailand / BKK @ Mobile expo….it had Honeycomb which was quite laggy…ICS was an improvement and its a lot more now, but it is not on a Level where anyone would b satisfied to hear “thats it, this is all you will get” in terms of updates . Sure it is a brainless move to leave this high-end device behind from the JB update . Actually a big mistake as you can imagine i will give a much more critical look the next time i purchase a new mobile device…will i stay with android? Likely! …will it be a Samsung????
