New update for Galaxy Note brings new interface and gallery

Samsung updated the Galaxy Note today in Germany.
Many things have changed in the latest Galaxy Note Firmware Update by Samsung.
Samsung changed the menu interface. The interface is now the same as the Galaxy S III.
Samsung also changed the gallery. The gallery of the Galaxy Note is now the same as the Galaxy Note II, complete with new things.
Samsung has used this gallery before in some of their TIZEN presentations

If you live in Germany you can update your device by using KIES or OTA.
Of course you also can get the  firmware from our firmware page called SamFirmware

Details of the firmware:
PDA: N7000XXLRQ
PHONE: N7000XXLRK
CSC: N7000DBTLRQ

Build info: Tue Aug 28 15:48 KST 2012.

Below are some pictures of this firmware…

By XDA member garytube…
- new launcher (like the Galaxy S3)
– new gallery with fancy 3D effects
– new contact list
– pop-up video can now be resized
– slightly changed contact list layout
– you can now save contacts in the S-Clound (like google contacts)
– performance improved!
– added S-Cloud (there is no dedicated App but after flashing you will be asked if you want to sycn all your settings with samsung)
– added new motion: call contact currently displayed if you raise the phone
– added bloatware (NTV, Lieferheld, ChatOn, myTaxi)
– black clipping not fixed

I’m really glad to see Samsung improving the interface of their old devices unlike the S1 and S2 which stayed the same through all the updates and new android versions.

I think the galaxy s2 user should expect a similar update soon. This is just to stall time for the Jelly Bean update.

This is unacceptable from Samsung,to update Note already with a newer version of 4.0.4 and leaving the S2 with the 4.0.3 with all those annoying bugs that make me feel that I have a single-core smartphone!FOR EFFING SHAME!!!!!!!:-(

I have big problems with this update. Performance is very good, but when I arranged all my homescreen icons and rebootet, nearly the half of all homescreen icons are gone. I saw this was exactly the apps I had on my SD-card. I have to rearrange all the apps from sd-card after EVERY reboot now. Big problems. And I read from other users with exactly the same problems. I hope Jelly Bean 4.1 arrives very soon with a fix of this bad error :(

Well, I wonder if my contacting Samsung & suggesting that they update the UI to the S3 version had anything at all to do with this update ? I asked a bunch of others to do the same & I guess Ill never know if we had anything to do with this but Im glad it happened :-) Now the long wait to see if it comes for the North American model i717 . Thanks Samsung – KID ANDROID (Team.Android.Canada)

Why samsung has forgotten Galaxy S2, even with more selling number compared to Galaxy Note? The Galaxy S 2 was the best smartphone in 2011. Or Samsung has something prepared behind the scenes? I think Samsung could loose a big community of users if Sammy do it. I hope that something is behind all. If not, I think my appreciated Galaxy S2 will be my last Samsung smartphone.

They were already working on the new Note so Im sure it wasnt that hard to throw these onto the Galaxy Note & see how things go while they are building the Jelly Bean update. I dont get why ppl with the Galaxy S2 think they should be first to get an update when the Galaxy Note is a more premier device that customers paid much more for then the Galaxy S2, it should get updated first. Anyways the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S2 will probably be first so calm down. We both just got updated to ICS so you should be enjoying that still anyways. Ppl are never happy about anything geez, if you care so much about updates go buy a crApple phone & get ripped off in every other way. Updates will come, be patient. – KID ANDROID

I must to say that the firmware works fine, i’m using days ago in my white note and don’t see any problem, the battery have well performance, 1% by day. In the first days had bad battery life reported by CPU-SPY but was the sinc of my exchange mail each 15 min refreshing, only i put the sync on never and ready. Comparing the interface, is almost the same Galaxy S3 interface, i recive calls, messages, mobile internet, apps, ect.
Really a nice interface, but is strange that only the N7000…and the XXLRQ. The galaxy s2 have 200MHz less by core that the note, samsung must to know that the S2 have performance too.
I hope that when the 4.1 update appears, either the S2 and the Note, they can to have the update together.
    Good luck S2 users!
