Exploded Galaxy S3 turns out to be microwaved

Well, do you remember these pictures?

Well it turns out that this was caused by a external source like a microwave.

The owner of the phone posted the following message on a forum:

On Samsung Tommorow the following statement was placed:

The damaged device and additionally provided devices were examined and exposed to a series to tests. The investigation summary states that “The energy source responsible for generating the heat has been determined as external to the device” and “the device was not responsible for the cause of the fire.”

Additionally, the investigation results state, “The only way it was possible to produce damage similar to the damage recorded within the owner’s damaged device was to place the devices or component parts within a domestic microwave.

So you see that it wasn’t Samsung’s fault but someone tried to pull of a stunt to get a new phone or something like that.

Im not sure that a fraud or else but it’s happen to me my p1000 once ( not burned like that pic ). My device was heated on their own without any reason until i swicthed off the device. I’d sent it to samsung n the technician said the board of the device was fried n lucky it’s still under warranty and their change the board without payment..

@ghost.bhoot2k, I would fall short of calling you a wanker….well actually you are. The report on the phone was done by a respected independent agency if you had read the report you would realise that. Yes any phone can get hot under certain circumstances but they do not spontaneously combust.

The phone had been tampered with and contained moisture, the owner was lucky that samsung gave him the opportunity to retract his original FALSE claims, no payoffs just a fraudulent lowlife got caught out and was luck that Samsung have better things to do with their time than chase idiots.

@ghost.bhoot2k i was joking about the owner shutting up …. anyways i had the S3 for a month or so the only thing unstable about it is that it drains the battery fast but its getting better with time after all its a new phone and its bound to have bugs in it .. samsung could have just sued the guys for his cloths yes but i think like davidf said it have better things to do with there time like suing apple :P
