EXCLUSIVE: First pictures of Tizen Os and the first phone will be the Samsung I9500.

Follow: Phones

RealNorth has been kind enough sending us pictures of the new OS TIZEN.
The frst looks of this new OS is very fresh and very clean.

Of course it is still in alpha stage TIZEN it’s totally not ready.
* However, this person got his hands on the TIZEN SDK somewhere. Which is scheduled for release this first quarter.

Her some pictures of the OS:

Samsung is one of the partners of Tizen and will be attending MWC. We think it is plausible that Samsung will show off the very first Tizen Phone there.
Presumably, this will be the Samsung I9500 which you can see in one of the pictures and the user agent hints to it.

Sammobile will be at MWC and will be tweeting and reporting from MWC this year and we will look out if we can see something about this Os and this phone.
We keep you posted, so stay tuned.

Realnorth Thank you for sending us these pictures!

Samsung has the power to fight with Android and IOS. They just have to polish visually and improve functionality of Tizen and Bada 3, seriously create apps in the beginning for both with their own developers…
When Samsung builds a strong customer army the developers worldwide will apply to work with
both OS. It’s a long and hard fight, because Android and IOS is already on the market….
    Just my humble ideas….

Seriously Samsung, another iOS clone? Just focus on polishing Android! Android is open source. And that’s not just a marketing move! Open source as in O-P-E-N-S-O-U-R-C-E; as in anyone can take the source code, put their own name onto it and pretend that they made it. There is literally NO reason to develop another operating system. Android is already ahead in number of features, number of apps, and is developed by Google, with top developers and designers from around the world. Samsung, you are a hardware manufacturer. You will never acquire enough talent to compete with Google. Maybe if Google suddenly stopped Android development for two years, Bada or Tizen might catch up. But it won’t. So just give up, Samsung!

Another reason Bada or Tizen (or even Windows Phone for that matter) will NEVER catch up: And app developers will never develop apps for any other OS than iOS and Android. Why? Because (1) iOS was the first smartphone OS and it’s beautiful. (2) even though it’s not beautiful, Android is OPEN SOURCE. App developers seriously love that. You seriously cannot imagine what kind of a difference that makes to developers; developers who labored through tens of years of computers and phones dominated by closed OSs, Android is a godsend. It is the future. And that is why the majority of app developers will not develop for any other OS. Not because it doesn’t have enough features, not because it doesn’t have APIs, just because it’s not Android.

@okungnyo have you thought about Google aquiring Motorola. So Samsung needs their own OS . And I think this got great potencial. The first looks of Tizen are very nice. And it is not Samsung alone who is developing this.

@MartinR: And what about Google’s acquisition of Motorola? Android will remain open source. Android will ALWAYS remain open source. That’s what you need to understand. Not only will doing so go against one of Google’s core philosophy, it will also bring a ****storm of antitrust cases, not to mention the unimaginable amount of bad press that it will receive. Samsung, LG, HTC, etc. will go to court and force Google to keep Android open, and Google will have achieved nothing, other than having proven itself a backstabber and anti-competitive. I don’t think that’s what Google wants, especially as it is currently being investigated by the US and the EU, and drawing comparisons with Microsoft in the 90s.

@Ruwin: Quit being a smart***. You know what I meant. I meant first “real” smartphone OS. How many apps does BlackBerry, Symbian, or Windows Mobile have? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

@okungnyo Wow, you clearly haven’t seen the Nokia Store (formerly OVI Store) lately, have you? There are plenty of quality apps and games on there (Angry Birds, anyone?). More clean, less clone apps, (duplicates with different names).. It’s like as if you’re saying the Nokia N95 was not a smartphone at all, even though everything you ever needed to do with the device was already built in (with the OS).

It is always possible to come with a new product in to the market and even eliminate others.
you have to make a serious plan and act seriously with a brand new product. That’s is the rules of the market. Yes, for now IOS and Android is dominating the market. But soon there will be another storm from another company….Brand new stuff with more functionality more innovative.
It can be TIZEN , Bada 3 or another OS. It will happen….
May be Asians will come together with a brand new OS, who knows…
Never say no… because everything is possible, if you act in the right time with a new innovative product.
Samsung has the power but not the real interest and will because it’s eyes is blinded form the money they make with Android…The proof is their own OS…..
    I’m a bad guy…hehehe…

Why any linux-based system must be so ugly in terms of UI ? Android turns off without frontends (at least 2.3), but this one waay uglier than even bada. And has nothing in common with Meego. I really hope that this Tizen will be only a backend for next bada version, if they would manage to merge Bada’s & Meego’s SDK into one so Wave line would get more of the “branded” applications, bada would get reception it deserves. For now, Bada 2 seems a bit of a transition piece of system.

If Samsung will release their flagman not on android, then i will never buy any of their products. If you think that you raised your phone business with Android and now just leave it and make your own OS, then i guess you guys are extremely stupid.
