Lil Wayne and champagne star in new Samsung ad

Samsung's Oscars 2016 ad for its new flagship handsets was a celebrity packed affair, it was also the first time we saw Lil Wayne promote the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge. The rapper has since appeared in a few more ads for the new flagships, he's almost always spilling champagne on the handsets, apparently unable to believe that a phone so sleek and thin can withstand a champagne bath over and over again.

In this latest ad, we see Lil Wayne walk into a store as he pours champagne on his Galaxy S7 edge. He asks the clerk if they sell high-end champagne just as he's about to run out. We see him open the bottle, stop and pay for it using Samsung Pay, and then start pouring champagne on his phone again as he walks out of the store. It's a funny little spot that highlights two of the main features of the Galaxy S7: Samsung Pay and water resistance. Samsung's marketing blitz for its new flagship handsets appears to be working as they've done very well in the market since they were released last month.
