If you're a garage band fan, you'll know that doing similar stuff on Android phones is quite some task, because of the lag between the time you give input to the time when the sound is actually produced. Samsung seemed to have noticed this before any other Android smartphone OEM, and rolled out fixes for the Galaxy Note 4 and its Edge variant some months back. However, the delay still seems to be noticeable on other Samsung phones, that is, unless you're on a Galaxy S5 running Lollipop.
The ‘special audio driver' as it is called, will be coming to more Samsung phones with the Lollipop update, according to PhoneArena. With the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 now rolling, users of other devices from the company, including the Note series ones, should expect the update anytime soon.
Take a look at the video below to see how the Galaxy S5 fares at audio latency. We were impressed, do let us know what you think of it. Oh and yes, there's a Nexus 5 video right below that, showcasing how the problem is still prevalent on phones from other companies.
