Consumers in the UK will soon be able to grab a Galaxy Note Edge, as retailer Carphone Warehouse has announced that it is now taking pre-orders for Samsung's curved screen wonder (in both black and white color options.) The device will start shipping and go up for general sale on December 12, with a price tag of £795 when bought unlocked. Contract plans start at £48.50 per month with an upfront fee of £129.99, but either way, consumers will be paying a lot to buy the “limited concept device” that is the Galaxy Note Edge.
Other than its 5.6-inch Edge display and a smaller (3,000mAh) battery, the Note Edge features mostly the same specs as the Galaxy Note 4. These include a QHD display resolution, Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, heart rate and fingerprint sensors, a 3.7-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat with the newest, and not so optimized, version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UX.
