The Galaxy S5 already proved its mettle in a thorough drop test conducted by a team over at TechSmartt, living to tell the tale through a number of disastrous falls over concrete and also after being run over by a car. Now, the TechSmartt team has released a video that puts the Galaxy S5's water resistance to the test, and once again, the latest Samsung flagship managed to escape noticeably unscathed. The phone managed to continue working perfectly after being submerged in 1 meter (3.3 feet) of water, but what is even more impressive is the fact that even a 50-minute wild ride in a washing machine wasn't enough to do any real damage, with the screen intact and the phone operating as normally as ever (though it did go blank for 10 minutes after the test.)
It's yet another show of how rugged the Galaxy S5 is, which is pretty impressive considering the Galaxy S4 was one of the most fragile Samsung phones. Check out the video below to see the tests for yourself, and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
