Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 might get Android L in November/December

Android L is one of the best versions of Android since the OS’ inception, bringing over a new design direction and quite a few important features, like a switch to Google’s new ART runtime for apps, lockscreen notifications, and support for 64-bit processors. Naturally, people have been wondering when their Samsung devices will get updated to Android L, and thanks to our insiders, we have an estimated time frame for the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4. Both devices should get the Android L update by the end of November/early December – it’s not clear when Google will make the new version available for Nexus devices, but based on our info Samsung should be pretty quick at adapting it for its own devices.

Of course, with software updates it’s never a guarantee that these time frames will work out, so it would be best not to get your hopes too high. However, with competing devices like the low-end Moto G getting quick updates these days, it’s possible Samsung is working at pushing updates faster than it has in the past, a scenario we can always get behind.

Please Samsung, please incorporate better volume level for S5 while tweaking Android L as the current S5 sound levels are way below par…

There is some rom by a developer which enhances the sound level of s5 but it requires root.
This means that enhancing sound level is indeed possible through software.

Please keep this is to do list while going for this major upgrade so the users could have ultimate Android L experience

How about releasing 4.4.4 KitKat first for current Galaxy S5 users like me?

Hi there. I only moved to Samsung last year getting an S4 which has been great. I also got the update to Kitkat 4.4.2 abd it has been even better. But I don’t have much experience of Android updates apart from the last one. Do yo think there might be a problem with Android L assuming it will be available for Samsung S4 phone. Would it be better not to update?

I hope Samsung doesn’t butcher it and just add the animations of the new update like they usually do and call it an update. For example, when unlocking to the camera on the Note 3, it doesn’t even make an animation. It just jumps to the camera, but not before a slight pause. The S5 it does do it correctly. They’re making their physical design look a LITTLE better, but now they really need a major design change again, on the software side. It still isn’t pleasing.
