Samsung’s WatchON app update adds dark theme, trailer previews, and more

Samsung has pushed out a major update to its WatchON app, with the most major change being the switch to a darker theme for the whole app, which makes it look better than it did before (at least to me, if you prefer light themes you’ll probably hate the dark theme). You can also watch trailer previews for some movies with the latest version, and the app will perform better overall thanks to performance enhancements.

The new version also includes fixes for numerous issues and improvements to the widget. Here are a few screenshots:

And the full changelog:

  • - Updated to Dark Theme UI
  • - Fixed non-loading grey screen issue
  • - Fixed non-loading white screen issue
  • - Fixed a few crashes on control pads
  • - Improvements in widgets
  • - Improvements in volume controller settings
  • - Trailer preview for certain movies
  • - Improvements on overall performance

The update is now live on the Play Store, so go ahead and hit the source link to update (or open up the Play Store app on your device and head to the My Apps section).

  1. you should write in the post that the app is for Galaxy S IV, Right??

    • Is not only for the Galaxy S4.

Every Galaxy Tab 3 could use it. Every Mega device, Galaxy Note 8.0 and the Galaxy S4 mini

      • Not sure about Tab 3. There is a separate app for tablets. This version will not work with my Note 8.0

    • It’s for every new phone that includes an IR sensor/port, which includes the Mega 6.3. :)
