Today SamMobile officially exists one year, time to look back but certainly what the future will bring us!

Origins of SamMobile!
On 14 June 2009 SamFirmware (samsung-firmwares) opened its doors, after more than 2 years SamFirmware had 500,000 site-members. Samsung asked us in one of these years to change our website name to a different domain name. Samsung-firmwares.com became SamFirmware.com and within 1 month SamFirmware was back at the old level of visitors. A little month before December 2011 SamFirmware announced that the sitename would change into SamMobile. The name SamFirmware and its 500,000 registered users were gone which we still find a pitty.
On 14 December 2011 SamMobile went from webs.com to wordpress.com.
The success of SamFirmware that mainly was known for all firmwares, SamMobile was back on track quite quick. SamMobile which still has the firmwares, but the entire site’s direction will be changed. SamMobile is going to show less interest in the firmware, but will be focussing to post more news and reviews.
As mentioned earlier, we lost 500,000 site-members that we had built from 2009. This we regretted a lot, luckily for us there were at SamMobile around 1500-2500 new registered users a day. On this day SamMobile has more than 900,000 site members!!! We expect to start 2013 with 1 million registered users!!
As a thank you we like to present SamMobile 2.0 on day itself or maybe a few weeks later. SamMobile 2.0 is totally renewed, more on this later!

Within one year from unknown to known!
SamMobile began on 14 December with the same exclusive Android updates for the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S and Galaxy Note. Also the Samsung Wave devices got the latest bada updates from SamMobile. This kept the name SamMobile well intact, particularly on forums like MoDaCo and Xda-developers. SamMobile started as mentioned with posting news messages.
Our biggest “bang” appeared to be when SamMobile had the exclusive first real sketches of the Galaxy S III. SamMobile was not only right about the sketches but on the device colors too. The real appreciation came when SamMobile was allowed to go to the presentation of the Galaxy S III which was made possible by Samsung Benelux. SamMobile will never forget the moment of Mr. JK Shin there.
During the presentation he told that some rumors about the Galaxy S III proved to be true. But this was not all, SamMobile spread many rumors about the Galaxy S III mini, Galaxy Premier and the new Ativ devices, which later all became true. We also announced four months ago that Samsung will not bring new bada and TIZEN devices in 2012.
SamMobile regularly receives information about new future smartphones and tablets and where they are sold, for this our thanks to the insiders. Without you SamMobile wasn’t what it is NOW!
Meanwhile SamMobile kept supporting the Samsung users with many new software updates!

Some facts…
- SamMobile has each day between 75,000 to 125,000 unique site visitors!
- Largest unique visitors per day record: 127,570 (5 December 2012)
- SamMobile gets the most visitors from Germany, followed by Italy and France.
- SamMobile has between 1500 – 2500 registered new users each day!
- Within 1 year SamMobile has more than 900,000 members site where SamFirmware needed two years for 500,000 site members!

The future…
Because of SamMobile’s growth we can not wait to present SamMobile 2.0 to you. We had planned SamMobile 2.0 for December along with our 1 year anniversary, unfortunately this could not be achieved and our release date now is the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We of SamMobile will be there of course! However, we wish to give you a sneak preview of SamMobile 2.0.
Please note that this preview may change if Samsung actually will change their logo and color.

We as a team, will change our focus on news at the start of SamMobile 2.0, to reviews and our comparing module. Which can be found under the new heading “COMPARE”. That said, the real SamMobile is still there for the Samsung users and of course we will bring the latest official firmwares from Samsung. For this we have created a new section namely “DEV CENTER” . In the beginning this will be something to get used to, but we from SamMobile want to be kind to all Samsung users and will divide the normal users from the hardcore users. So the normal users no longer will be troubled by the word firmware (which according to our research scares people) and the real Samsung user has their own section.
Again we emphasize that both roads will remain 100% supported!

By the way on SamMobile 2.0 the moderation on off topic comments will be much stronger so the site stays clean and the messages are nice to read for everyone!
