Samsung working on Own 13MP Image Sensor
Everybody thought that Samsung was using a 13 MP Image Sensor in the Note II, but that order went to LG.
So Samsung is developing their own 13MP Sensor to be sure in the future they can use a 13 MP where they want whenever they want..

General Description
CMOS image sensors (CIS) convert light falling upon them into an equivalent electrical signal. They are thus one of the most important components of any digital imaging device such as a digital still/video camera and determine the quality of the images/videos captured by the camera. Apart from digital cameras almost all mobile computing and communication devices in use today such as smartphones and tablet computers are equipped with the ability to take photos and shoot videos. CIS devices are extensively used in today-acute;s mobile applications.
A CIS device is designed as an integrated circuit containing a number of light-sensitive pixels. The self-contained unit also contains circuitry that scans each pixel at fixed intervals providing an electrical pattern of the image falling on the pixels. One of very few who can make their own components as needed. Hopefully they put in the resources into developing quality camera sensors as much as they’ve done with dram, soc, displays, nand storage, etc

Go on Samsung show us what you can do.
I will buy all my future device from Samsung if you can also make all these devices work together.

You can not have more right on this.
Samsung gives more for less money = ratio quality/price is highest in Samsung!
