Latest Galaxy S10 software update brings Note 10 camera features

There’s some good news today for Galaxy S10 owners. The latest Galaxy S10 software update that Samsung is sending out today brings new camera features from the Galaxy Note 10. It even adds Dex for PC support, a feature that was introduced with the Galaxy Note 10. The update includes the latest security patch as well.

The firmware update is out for the entire Exynos-powered series – Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+ – and is rolling out over-the-air in select markets right now. It will eventually be available for users across the globe. The Qualcomm-powered variant of the Galaxy S10 has already received its September 2019 security patch.

Galaxy Note 10 features included in latest Galaxy S10 software update

Firmware version G970FXXU3ASIG, G973FXXU3ASIG and G975FXXU3ASIG is now rolling out for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ respectively. It has been released OTA in Germany and Switzerland so far.

The official changelog for this update mentions that the new camera features include Live focus, Live focus video, Night mode for the front camera, AR Doodle and Super steady video recording in Hyperlapse mode. Some of you may recall that Live focus has already been present on the Galaxy S10. That’s true – this update merely brings the new Glitz Live focus effect from the Galaxy Note 10. Live focus video, on the other hand, is a new addition for both the front and rear cameras.

The Link to Windows feature was introduced with the Galaxy Note 10. It has been expanded to the Galaxy S10 series as well. This is nothing more than a glorified shortcut which hides the app icon for Microsoft’s Your Phone app. It has already been possible to get this feature on older Samsung devices. DeX for PC and the Dynamic Lock screen (a feature that changes the lock screen wallpaper every time the screen is turned on) are part of the update as well.

Samsung is gradually rolling out the latest Galaxy S10 software update so it will be a while before it becomes available for everyone. It’s readily available for download from our firmware section for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+.

It’s good to see that Samsung hasn’t made Galaxy S10 owners wait for too long for these new features. Are you excited to try them out on your Galaxy S10? Let us know in the comments below.

    • Yes, as you mentioned many times already...
Why don't you flash the firmware yourself with Odin, instead posting the same message in every Firmware-update post?
Flashing with Odin isn't that difficult,,,

      • First of all , it isn't same replay, and second of all , I just said I notify my fursting feeling about it, and hoped they wouldn't skip it, so please kindly stop recommend me to "flash firmware " i wouldn't make my month paid insurers to end because, you want me put an non original firmware for my country .
And take a risk on my device

        • First of all: it's an ORIGINAL firmware (Multi-CSC OXM), which is also for your country Israel (ILO)...
That said: the update for your S10 is there: enjoy...

  • Do you guys think, maybe something from this come for Note 9? Or its done with updates and features(exspect android 10)...

  • Dynamic Lock screen - this has been on my S10 since the day i bought it in March - what's changed or how is this new???

    • Hardware-related issues such as battery charging cannot be remedied with a software update. Therefore, as the S10 series (except S10 5G) support charging speeds up to 15W, there is no changing that. The Note10, Note10+ series support 25W charging, though.

  • Live focus VIDEO for S10e, S10 and S10+? I thought only S10 5G would support this feature as it has a 3D TOF camera.

  • Again only s10 and n10 and note 9 you somehow embarrassed, but why.Note 9 it would be better if he has spen !!!

  • Hello, I have a question regarding the latest galaxy s10 update. The 2x zoom camera in night mode is registered with aperture 1.5 in the photo gallery. I think it should be registered 2.4. Another observation I made, when I select the zoom camera in night mode, and put my finger in front of the camera, I see that it is no longer selected. It changes to the main one, the middle one. Has anyone noticed this too?
