After releasing the November 2021 security update to the Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy A32, Samsung has started rolling it out to the Galaxy S20 series. The update is currently rolling out in Germany, but more markets should get it over the next few days.
The latest updates for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra come with firmware version G98xxXXSCDUJ5. While we don’t have the official changelog for the update yet, we know it consists of the November 2021 security patch that fixes various privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It might also include device stability improvements and general bug fixes.
If you are a Galaxy S20 series smartphone user in Germany, you might have already received a notification of the new update. If you haven’t received it yet, you can check for it manually by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy S20 series early last year with Android 10-based One UI 2. It received the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update in December 2020 and the One UI 3.1 update earlier this year.
