    Galaxy S20 5G from SM-G981U to SM-G981U1

Hello, I have bought the Galaxy S20 5G (SM-G981U) from US under the carrier T-Mobile...with Network lock status "Unlock". I have read somewhere that the difference between the model G-981U and G981U1 are that the later does not contains carrier bloatware. Since I am not from the US and not using T-Mobile sim card, can I change my firmware to that of SM-G981U1? If yes, How?

Also, will the firmware change removes the carrier boot logo?

Your assistance and advise is greatly appreciated.

    Hi there

    You probably can, but:

    1. NOT with the official Odin (other versions we don't support)
    2. We don't have the "Know how"...

    Thank you for your reply.

    Just confirming with your response...

...do you mean G981U to G981U1 is not possible with official Odin?

    2. We don't have the "Know how"... or you are referring to whether carrier boot logo can be removed after changing firmware?

    Thank you

    No:

You can't change the firmware from "U" to "U1" with the OFFICIAL Odin.

    Patched Odin's we don't support.

    Maybe XDA-forums can help you...

    Thank you henklbr for replying.

Just last question. Is there a generic G981U firmware I can flash (with official odin) without any carrier specific bloatware

    Again thank you.

It's Multi-CSC OYN firmware. You've a branded device and it will stay branded...
