Question Flashed S10+, what about the OTA updates ?

Hello, I need help ! I flashed my S10+ with a french (XEF) firmware because it has a O2U from United Kingdom, but when I click on Search android updates my phone tells me that my S10+ is up to date !
Will I get updates from Samsung, or I need to do them with Odin (manually) ?
    Many thanks !

Well, since the latest firmware update for either of those devices is less than a month old, I am not surprised that the device is reported as being up to date. Iwould start by relaxing !!! Odds are you will get future updates from Samsung unless you've done something silly and tripped KNOX, etc... and if you have, you download them when they become available. It is not as if you are going to be doing this every day.

    Thanks for your reply!
Yes, I panicked a bit because I don't want to ruin my favourite phone... Before doing the flash, I deleted all the accounts of the phone, the biometrics informations and the PIN code. Then, I installed the second last firmware which is under android 10. So my phone will offer me the upgrade to Android 11 (which is already available) by itself? I read on the internet that flashing your phone will exempt it from automaticofficial updates...
Anyway, thanks for reassuring me !

    Hi there

Could you go to Software Info on your device, screenshot it from top to bottom and post it here?

Do you have experience flashing with Odin?

Honestly it's my first flash. I've done it with a tutorial, but it's really simple. Why ?

    Hi there

    1. Download SmartSwitch for PC (NOT to be used, just for the correct drivers): https://www.sammobile.com/samsung-smart-switch/
    2. Download Odin 3.14.x: https://dl2018.sammobile.com/Odin3-v3.14.4.zip
    3. Download latest firmware for France (XEF): https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/ga...9ETLJ/1166236/

How to flash firmware to your phone:

    1. Extract (un-rar) the firmware file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin) ***
    2. Download Odin v3.14.4
    3. Extract Odin ZIP file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin)
    4. Open Odin v3.14.4
    5. Power OFF your S10+
    6. Reboot Phone in Download Mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdqAx_zSXfU
    7. Wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
    8. Add the firmware files to their designated slots (AP in AP, BL in BL, CP in CP, HOME_CSC in CSC). USERDATA stays EMPTY!
    9. Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
    10. Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes

    Note: use USB-A -> USB-C cable

Use SamMobile only if you are 100% sure about the risks involved in flashing your device. SamMobile is not responsible for any damage caused by using the files on this website.

Huuum, many thanks. But my phone is already flash. I only want to know if it will get the official Android updates without Odin and flash ? I mean when Samsung release an update, they appear in the settings of the phone. Will I have it ?
