Hi there,
I bought a S8 (G950U) but can´t get firmware updates neither OTA nor with smart switch. I am using it in Germany and also performed a factory reset. I used odin for my old s4 but i want not to use it with s8 because I have fear to loose rhe warranty. Firmwareversion is G950USQS6DSH2 Provider software version: XAA/XAA/XAA
Thank you for your help in advance
Hi there
Only way to keep your device up-to-date is flashing yourself...
Download latest SmartSwitch for PC (NOT to be used, only for the drivers): https://www.sammobile.com/samsung-smart-switch/
Download latest Odin: https://dl2018.sammobile.com/Odin3-v3.14.4.zip
Download latest firmware: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/ga...S7DTB3/326544/
Flash AP BL CP & HOME_CSC_OYN (other files in archive NOT to be used) with Odin 3.14.x -> your data will stay intact.
How to flash firmware to your phone:
1. Extract (un-rar) the firmware file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin) ***
2. Download Odin v3.14.1
3. Extract Odin ZIP file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin)
4. Open Odin v3.14.1
5. Power OFF your S8
6. Reboot Phone in Download Mode: Hold down Bixby-VolDOWN-Power simultaneously
7. Wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
8. Add the firmware files to their designated slots (AP in AP, BL in BL, CP in CP, HOME_CSC_OYN in CSC) (Other files in archive NOT to be used!)
9. Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
10. Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
Hi henklbr,
thank you for your quick response! Will I loose the warranty of the phone and will it get rooted by this procedure?
The latest firmware would be
PDA G950USQS7DTB3
CSC G950UOYN7DTB3
is it right?
Sorry henklbr,
I´ve overseen your link to the firmware!
Many thanksfor your help.
HI henklbr,
worked perfectly!
THX again!
