    Hi Yakapa40,

Yes I saw this. Am I correct that this means if I flash BTU I am guaranteed BTU CSC on phone? ( i.e. single folder means single CSC)

Thank you so much for this help,

    Jim

    Mark,

I would appreciate you posting this information as I'm quite sure the phone I am getting is OMN (Italy Vodafone) also. My dilemma is that I am on Vodafone here in Ireland so while I prefer debranded phones in general, I'm trying to decide whether to leave it on original firmware or to flash BTU.

Did you notice much difference between OXM and OMN apart from no vodafone apps?

    Thanks

    Jim

Did you flash OMN for vodafone? If so what CSC did you end up with? (OMN is part of a the OVF multi-CSC which defaults to VD2 which is German Vodafone, but maybe Italian Vodafone sim makes OMN the active CSC??).

The info given from https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...honeinfo&hl=en PhoneINFO app would be very useful.

    Let us know please,

    Jim
I Jim, the phoneINFO app lists:
    - Product Code: SM-A530FZKAOMN
    - Active CSC: OMN
    - Original CSC: empty
    - Firmware CSC code: empty
    - CSC State: Italy

I think that I successfully reverted to Italian Vodafone version, do you agree?

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Apologies I have been away for a few days. It appears you have reverted to the Italian version. I don't understand how you managed to do this unless you always flashed the home_csc. However, I would have thought that changing to OXM would have required the loss of the original CSC. Maybe someone can explain this to me.

It would be very interesting to see your "Service provider SW ver" located under Setttings/About Phone/Software Information.

I should have received my phone today so I will post software info then.

    Many thanks

    Jim

    Hi,

Well I just received phone an hour ago. It is indeed Italian Vodafone. I did put in an Irish Vodafone SIM for first run and following an (Italian) restart it was in English with Vodafone app installed.

    SM-A530F / Galaxy A8(2018)
    Product Code: SM-A530FZKAVDI
    Original CSC Code: (Blank)
    Firmware'CSC Code: (Blank)
    Active CSC Code: VDI
    Available CSC Codes: (Blank)

    Bootloader Version: A530FXXU3BRJ4
    PDA Version: A530FXXU3BRJ4
    CSC Version: A530FOVF3BRJ1
    Baseband Version: A530FXXU3BRJ4

    Service provider SW ver.
    SAOMC_SM-A530F_OVF_VDI_OO_0008
    520036d948d495a1
    VDI/VDI/OMN

I'm just wondering what the significance of VDI/VDI/OMN on the last line is?

While having the vodafone firmware doesn't bother me all that much as I'm on Vodafone Ireland, am I correct in thinking that if I did flash BTU I wouldn't have any easy route back to OMN firmware? (From warrany perspective of course).

    Thanks,

    Jim
