Exclamation Trying to downgrade my samsung galaxy s9 SM-G960W using Odin

    Hello,

I would like to downgrade my sm-g960w firmware to be the earliest available firmware. Listed below are all of the available firmware from sam mobile.

    2018-11-29
    8.0.0
    G960WVLS3ARJ6
    G960WOYV3ARJ6

    2018-11-04
    8.0.0
    G960WVLU3ARJ5
    G960WOYV3ARJ5

    2018-09-27
    8.0.0
    G960WVLS3ARI1
    G960WOYV3ARI1

    2018-09-03
    8.0.0
    G960WVLU3ARH3
    G960WOYV3ARH3

    2018-07-02
    8.0.0
    G960WVLU2ARF7
    G960WOYV2ARF7

    2018-06-03
    8.0.0
    G960WVLU2ARE6
    G960WOYV2ARE6

    2018-03-12
    8.0.0
    G960WVLU1ARBG
    G960WOYV1ARBG

When I visit About --> Software Information --> Baseband version

it says, G960WVLS3ARJ6 and I also noticed it says R16NW.G960WVLS3ARJ6 for the Build Number.

I'm following this tutorial posted at, [ Login above or register to see download links. ]

I am not sure why, but I chose to download the file named, G960WVLU1ARBG_G960WOYV1ARBG_BWA.zip from sammobile and that is the file that I'm using right now to attempt to downgrade. Today I've decided to download the earliest available firmware out of all of them to see if that one will work as well but my internet speed is slow so I won't be able to test it until tonight when it finishes downloading. So, using the firmware that I downloaded, I specified all of the proper files in Odin, the BL file with the file that starts with BL in the filename and so on. The only thing that I'm not sure about is that there are two files with CSC in the name, I chose to specify the first file which is the one without the word HOME in the filename because I did not want to retain any user data(got this idea from a forum post).

When I first started with this tutorial my Odin would always fail at the "connecting.." part but now that I've switched USB ports, It goes a little farther but still fails with an error message. I am using Odin version 3.13.1 and I followed the tutorial to the end. The only thing I'm not specifying in Odin is the one called USERDATA. My Odin Fails and gets stuck with the following FAIL message.

    "<ID:0/003> FAIL! (Auth)"

    Below is a screenshot.

    Hi there, good morning

You can't downgrade due to security reasons...

You could try a Samsung Service Point...

    sorry, just seeing this now.

how do i try a Samsung Service Point? Also, I've managed to downgrade to this version here....

    Build date Thu, 09 Aug 2018 06:03:40 +0000
    Security Patch Level 2018-08-01
    Product code KDO
    PDA G960WVLU3ARH3
    CSC G960WOYV3ARH3

I flashed a combination rom for the 960U version and then OEM unlock and USB debugging enabled. This is the earliest firmware I can flash to using the combination rom. I'm unsure why it works and the previous dated versions don't. But you said I couldn't even downgrade at ALL!! hah, learning something new everyday : )

    Hi there, good morning

THat's because we DON'T give support to ILLEGAL (read: NOT meant for CUSTOMERS, only Samsung Service) "Combination ROM's"!
