How can I set volume independently for Google Hangouts?

Google Hangouts notifications are louder than notifications for other apps for some reason. Using Samsung Sound Assistant I set a separate profile for Hangouts and have it turned all the way down but it has no effect and is still too loud. If I turn the overall phone notifications volume down, then I can't hear other types of notifications.

Any suggestions?
