    Firmware Upgrade KJ2 to KL3

I used Kies to upgrade firmware of my Galaxy S2 (GT I9100G). Kies prompt me that there is upgrade available whics is from KJ2 to KL3. I click upgrade and wait for it finished. However, at the end of the upgrading process, KIES told me that the upgrade was not successful (I dont remember the exact wordings). And my phone is still in downloading mode with the green android robot logo and blinking downloading status still working. But the KIES already disconnected my phone.

I disconnect, and restart the phone and look at the firmware is still KJ2. I am confused here, the KIES told me to upgrade, but KIES also told me the upgrade was unsuccessful.

My internet connection speed is 4MB.
My phone is running on 2.3.6 gingerbread.
    Unrooted device.
I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Odin is a flash program for Samsung (android) mobile phones. We use it to upgrade our Samsung phones.
Maybe this one should help you to understand http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1075278 You just go and read "Flashing Firmware with Odin"
If you want to download the newest firmware for your phone, follow this link http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?p...0G&r=2#regiona to search. Have fun

Don't worry, use Odin to flash stock firmware (the one I sent you) will not lose your warranty.

    The password is "samfirmware.com"

There are some hints I would like to tell you before you try to upgrade your phone by Odin.
    - You should upgrade with your laptop. if you do with PC, it's still in processing and the electricity is off, your phone will be bricked (dead).
    - You must use original Samsung cable to conect your phone with your laptop.
    - it will take around 5 mins to upgrade for your by Odin but the battery life of your phone (and your laptop as well) must be 50% at least.
    - If you installed Kies already, your computer has driver already so you just quit Kies before flashing. If your computer did not install Kies yet, you have to download driver follow this link http://www.mediafire.com/?9m6e16twvi1oybr (no need to install Kies) and install it before flashing.
    - And the last one, read instructions carefully before flashing and you will be success.

You can go to http://sammobile.com/firmware everyday to look for the newest firmware for your phone. Mr. Danny, Administrator of this forum, will post new firmware if it's available by Samsung. Have fun
