    Wipe data before flashing.

    Hey,
Did anyone try to flash a FW without wiping data before it?
Will it harm the device if I didn't wipe data before flashing?
I flashed multiple FW before but I always wiped data before flashing? Is it necessary?

Wipe data in a recovery mode after flashing with Odin.
No need to do it before flashing.

What happens if I didn't? Will data be preserved? (Assuming that I am upgrading from a stock FW)

With OTA and SmartSwitch you can retain data.
With Odin you can get some restored through the Google/Samsung backup and restore.
But if you have any important data it is better to make a backup before using Odin.
Try the Helium app from the Play Store.
